At InfoComm 2025, the OpenAV Cloud initiative gained strong traction within the AV industry, bringing on board major players like Adobe, Bose Professional, Yamaha, and many others. The initiative, launched in 2024, aims to build an open, interoperable AV ecosystem where devices and platforms from different brands can work together seamlessly. Through shared, cloud-based APIs and secure data standards, the goal is to make AV systems more flexible, integrated, and user-friendly for manufacturers, integrators, and IT teams alike.
The excitement around OpenAV Cloud is driven by growing customer demand for compatibility and freedom of choice in AV technology. This initiative not only addresses interoperability but also promotes industry-wide collaboration, secure data practices, and future-ready AV infrastructure. With over two dozen new members joining at InfoComm, the OpenAV Cloud movement is quickly becoming the blueprint for smarter, more connected AV systems.
The OpenAV Cloud initiative generated enthusiastic support across the AV industry at InfoComm 2025, recruiting several new leading AV manufacturers and integrators to take part in the initiative. Founded last May, OpenAV Cloud’s objective is to create an open, interoperable, and a customer-first AV ecosystem that benefits the entire value chain – from manufacturers to integrators to end users, allowing end users and systems integrators to be able to deploy integrable and interoperable devices.
By developing open, cloud-based APIs and shared frameworks for secure data access and cross-brand compatibility, OpenAV Cloud empowers manufacturers, integrators, and end users to collaborate and innovate seamlessly, assuring interoperability and integration, and maximum flexibility. Prior to and during InfoComm, the initiative recruited around two dozen new contributing members, including Adobe, Appspace, AtlasIED, Avocor, Bluesound Professional, Bose Professional, ClearOne, all connected Legrand AV brands (including C2G, Da-Lite, Luxul, Middle Atlantic, Vatnage, and Vaddio), NetSpeek, Ochno, Planar, PointGrab, Sharp, Symetrix, TekVox, and Yamaha.
“The launch of OpenAV Cloud represents a significant leap forward – a visionary initiative to create an open, compatible AV ecosystem,” said Omer Brookstein of Xyte, one of the initiative’s founding members. “The excitement at InfoComm was palpable. We’ve consistently heard that customers and partners want interoperability, and it’s gratifying to know that OpenAV Cloud is shaping a more collaborative future.”
